ArtShift is a chance to experience a new and exciting style of professional learning for visual arts educators in the MENA region. With a focus on creation, we will leverage the talent of local artists, participants and other professionals to provide hands-on, studio-style learning that is directly applicable to a range of contexts.

50-minute sessions leading others through hands-on, experiential learning around pedagogy or creation that are applicable to a range of contexts.

90-minute sessions focused on “diving deep” into skills, practices or techniques with a focus on creating a final product through a framework that can be replicated.

Dilmun Pottery Experience
A craft as old as the Dilmun Civilization itself. Pottery making has been around on this island for thousands of years. Learn from an expert in ancient pottery techniques with an instructor who started pottery creation when he was 9. Utilize your creativity in this ancient art form.
Discover the Souq
Travel through narrow alleyways, dive into colorful murals and artwork, and explore an eclectic range of shopping stalls on this beautiful tour through the Manama Souq.
With stops at Bab al Bahrain, the Shrinathji temple, the historical Gold Souq, colorful fabric and shop perfumeries, tobacco stalls and spice shops, you will experience all the Souq has to offer. Remember to bring your camera and a good pair of walking shoes!
Biking in Jasra
Experience a bit of Bahrain and take in the beautiful scenery by bike. This tour highlights the greenery, crafts, culture and abundance that Bahrain has to offer. Explore the Jasra organic farm, chew on some chilly and feed a few goats before we head out on our bikes! Glide down the Mazarea highway where we see a gorgeous field of palm trees, explore farms, visit the King's Camel Farm and stop by the Sikh temple. Bring your cameras for this beautiful trip!

Workshop Schedule
As sessions will be run by educators attending the conference, we will be sharing out a form when we reach 30 participants asking for workshop ideas. We will share a finalize schedule closer to the event.
LEVEL 5 Partner Hotel
LEVEL 5 has a corporate booking rate with the Le-Méridien hotel which is conveniently located in City Center, Bahrain's largest mall. If you book with Le Meridian, you will receive complimentary airport transfer, breakfast, and transportation to and from LEVEL 5 for the summit. International Travel and Visas
Traveling to Bahrain is quite simple. Many passports are eligible for visa on arrival and more are available online. You can check here for the Bahrain visa list. For further questions, please reach out to Luke Meinen.

There is a multitude of things to do in Bahrain outside of the workshop times. You can visit a wide range of amazing restaurants, stroll through the Manama Souq, shop in beautiful malls, or tour historical sites.
